My great-grandfather, John Bentley, lived in Walton County and owned a store there. The photograph dates back to about 1900; my grandfather, Morris, is a toddler in the photo, and I believe that he was born in 1898. I do not recall the street or house number, but at least a portion of the home was still standing a few years ago. The family is on the downstairs porch, and I have noted their names under their places on the porch. John Bentley is my great-grandfather. Morris, his son shown in this photo, is my grandfather. We assume that our ancestors are surrounded by local friends and neighbors. However, we have no idea who they are. I would love it if someone can tell us who these other folks are.
